STATE CHAMPIONS: Nazareth clears Saltillo in 1A-D2, 43-28

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (TXAN 24) - Thursday afternoon in San Antonio, Texas' Alamodome, Satillo and Nazareth Girl's Basketball teams matched up to decided who would be named the 1A-D2 State Champion. Both teams had a great fan turnout in the building and the energy was very high in the pre-game.

When the game tipped off, Nazareth wasted no time in jumping out to an early lead behind the scoring of #14 Cleavinger who had nine points, nearly the total of Saltillo, on the board at halftime. When the third quarter began Saltillo trailed 27-11.

In the second half, Nazareth Swiftettes extended their lead to as much as twenty points and coasted to a State Championship over Saltillo Lady Lions behind 14 points from Nazareth's #14 Cleavinger.
