1A-D1 STATE CHAMPIONS: Broaddus wins 52-42 over Eula at Alamodome

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (TXAN 24) - On Thursday morning at the Alamodome in San Antonio the UIL Girl's Basketball State Championships tipped off with the first game of the weekend featuring Broaddus and Eula for the 1A-D1 classification.


In the first half the top scorer was Kaylynn Quinney of Broaddus who poured in nine points from various different ways; three pointers, free-throw and transition buckets. Eula was lead by Emma Damron who chipped in seven points. At the halftime break the Broaddus Lady Bulldogs held 24-18 lead over the Eula Lady Pirates.


In the third quarter Quinney and Broaddus maintained control of this game although Eula make runs to push back, leading into the final period. In the fourth quarter Kaylynn Quinney continued to find ways to score as the lead hovered around the ten point margin for its majority.

Broaddus - 52

Eula - 42
