DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — Texas ranked last among all 50 states in a new nationwide study measuring sexual habits, online curiosity, and adult retail availability, according to research released by Say It With A Condom.
The study’s “U.S. Kink Index” analyzed average weekly sex frequency, adult store density, kink-related Google searches, and NSFW content searches to determine the most sexually adventurous states in America.
Texas finished No. 50 overall with a Kink Score of 22.74. Researchers found Texans average 0.86 sexual encounters per week, while the state has approximately 2.2 adult stores per one million adult residents.
Despite the low overall ranking, Texas generated significant online interest in adult topics. BDSM was the most-searched category statewide with 252,200 searches, followed by Face Sitting with 225,900 searches and Swinging with 117,400 searches.
Researchers said Texas ranked near the bottom nationally for per-capita online curiosity, recording 1,539 NSFW content searches per 1,000 residents and 318 kink-related searches per 10,000 residents among the lowest rates in the country.
Florida ranked 49th, followed by Tennessee, Georgia, and Mississippi to round out the five lowest-ranked states.
The study’s top 10 Texas search interests included BDSM, Face Sitting, Swinging, Masochism, Virtual Sex, Fisting, Voyeurism, Group Sex, Role Play, and Outdoor Sex.
According to Say It With A Condom, the index was designed to measure both online interest and real-world behavior to identify America’s most and least sexually adventurous states.
