‘NO KINGS’: Protesters Line Broadway & Fourth in Tyler Opposing Donald Trump

TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) – A group of demonstrators gathered Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Fourth Street, holding signs and chanting slogans in protest of former President Donald Trump.

The protest, organized by local residents and activists, centered around the theme “No Kings,” signaling opposition to what participants described as a growing trend toward authoritarianism in American politics.

“We’re here to say that no one is above the law,” said one protester, who held a handmade sign reading ‘No Kings, Just People.’ “This country was founded on democracy, not dynasties.”

The demonstration remained peaceful, with Tyler Police monitoring the scene but making no arrests. Drivers honked in support — and some in disagreement.

Organizers said they chose the busy Broadway location for its visibility and symbolic power in a city known for its conservative leanings.

The protest comes as national legal proceedings involving Trump continue to draw headlines, with debates over presidential immunity, classified documents, and criminal charges dominating the political landscape.
