AUSTIN, Texas (TXAN 24) — More than half of eligible Texans now use the state’s official digital government platform, Texas by Texas (TxT), according to the Texas Department of Information Resources.

State officials announced that more than 12.3 million Texans have created TxT accounts as of May 1, representing roughly 53% of the state’s age-eligible population. The platform allows users to access multiple state services through a single login, including vehicle registration, driver license renewals, and licensing services.

DIR says Texans are signing up at a rate of about 7,000 new accounts per day, with the platform processing more than 29.6 million transactions since launch.

“DIR’s vision is to transform how Texas government serves Texans,” said Tony Sauerhoff, Executive Director and State of Texas Chief Information Officer. “With the TxT platform, our focus is on making government services easier for Texans to access and use.”

The platform is managed through the Texas.gov program by the Texas Department of Information Resources, while Deloitte develops and maintains the system under contract.

Services currently available through TxT include driver license and ID services from the Texas Department of Public Safety, vehicle registration through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and boat registration services through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Officials say future updates will expand access for out-of-state users and improve accessibility features.

Texans can access the platform through the official Texas by Texas (TxT) website or mobile app.
