
JACKSONVILLE, Texas (TXAN 24) — Jacksonville Varsity Indians pulled off a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Palmer Varsity Bulldogs, with freshman pitcher Parker Inglehart earning his first varsity win.
Palmer took a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh after a tag-up by Matty Martinez, but Jacksonville responded in dramatic fashion. Giancarlo Rico doubled to right field, bringing in the tying run, and Myers followed with a single down the right field line to drive in the game-winning run.
Inglehart closed out the game for the Indians, delivering a clutch performance on the mound. The freshman pitched two-thirds of an inning without allowing a hit or run, striking out one. Rico started for Jacksonville, going six strong innings with six strikeouts, while Drew Diles also appeared in relief.
Landon Munoz took the loss for Palmer after giving up two runs on three hits in the final inning. Will Baxter started for the Bulldogs, holding Jacksonville hitless through two and a third innings.
Rico, Myers, and Best each drove in a run for Jacksonville as the team rallied late to secure the win.
