FORT WORTH, Texas (TXAN 24) — The city of Fort Worth has narrowed its list of candidates for the next police chief, and one familiar name stands out. Eddie Garcia, currently serving as an assistant city manager in Austin and previously Dallas’ police chief, is among the finalists.
The city has announced a community meet-and-greet later this week, where residents will have a chance to hear directly from the candidates. The position has remained open since former Chief Neil Noakes stepped down earlier this year.
