Forney Pulls Away From Tyler Legacy In Second Half, Wins 56-34
TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Tyler Legacy kept pace with Forney through the first half Friday night, but the visiting Jackrabbits took control after the break, turning a 28-28 halftime tie into a 56-34 victory on the night Legacy celebrated Senior Night.
The two teams traded punches during an offensive first half, with neither able to create separation. But Forney found another gear coming out of the locker room, outscoring Legacy in the second half to pull away and secure the win.
For Legacy, the loss drops the program to 2-7 on the season. The Rebels will close out their schedule against Royse City, looking to finish the year on a positive note.
Forney improves to 3-6 and now turns its attention to a significant home matchup. The Jackrabbits will host 8-1 Longview on November 6 at Forney City Bank Stadium, with the game also serving as Forney's Senior Night.
What began as a tightly contested matchup ultimately became a difficult second-half finish for Legacy, which will have one more opportunity to close its season with a win.
