COMMERCE, Texas (TXAN 24) — East Texas A&M is making noise before the season even kicks off. The Lions are one of just two programs in the country whose first two games of 2025 will be broadcast nationally.

They open the season on August 30 at SMU, airing live on the ACC Network at 8 p.m. Just one week later, they head to Florida State for an 11 a.m. kickoff on September 6, again on the ACC Network.

This year also marks a major milestone for ETAMU, as it officially competes as a full NCAA Division I member — now eligible for FCS playoff contention.

The Lions bring in 42 newcomers, including transfers from the FBS, FCS, D-II, D-III, and JUCO levels. The full roster can be viewed at LionAthletics.com.

The home opener is set for September 27 vs. NC Central at 6 p.m. Season tickets are available now at LionAthletics.com/Tickets.

TXAN 24 will follow the Lions every step of the way on The East Texas Football Show, bringing exclusive interviews and game coverage all season long.
