BYU pulls off upset in opening game of BIG XII Baseball Championships

ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) - In a stunning start to the 2025 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, No. 12 seed BYU upset No. 5 seed Arizona State in the opening game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.


BYU's recent momentum, appears to be carrying over into the tournament. Key performances from players like senior first baseman Cooper Vest, who leads the team with 16 home runs and 58 RBIs in the regular season, are propelling the Cougars forward.
