Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer Gala Raises $4 Million for Pediatric Cancer Research and Family Support

DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — Wipe Out Kids Cancer celebrated its 45th anniversary by raising $4 million during its annual gala at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas to support pediatric cancer research and programs for families battling childhood cancer.
The April 25 event honored children known as “Warriors,” their families, and the donors helping fund advancements in pediatric cancer treatment. Honorary Chairs Tatiana and Peter Cancro joined WOKC founder Cindy Brinker Simmons and Gala Co-Chair Karee H. Sampson in leading the milestone celebration.
Half of the funds raised will support innovative pediatric cancer research grants in partnership with the . The foundation plans to match the contribution, creating a combined $4 million investment in pediatric cancer research projects across North America.

The remaining funds will support WOKC family programs, including Buddy Bags, Warrior Family events, and its international podcast focused on helping families during treatment journeys.

Guests also heard emotional stories from former pediatric cancer patients Haylie Geraci and Niko Tacey, both now attending Texas A&M University. ESPN journalist Holly Rowe served as emcee for the evening.
