TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Week 12 of the NFL season is shaping up to be historic for several players with Texas ties. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen can climb the record books Thursday night against Houston. A touchdown pass would move him past Brett Favre for the fifth-most touchdown passes in a player’s first eight seasons. Allen also has a chance to enter the top four all-time for combined passing and rushing yards in that span.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott, a Texas native, is chasing another milestone Sunday against Philadelphia. Three touchdown passes would put him past Russell Wilson for the fifth-most games with three-or-more touchdown passes in a player’s first 10 seasons.

Meanwhile, Houston-area fans will watch Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson, the former Longhorn, as he heads to New Orleans. A big game could make him the fifth player in NFL history to record 50 receptions and 1,400 scrimmage yards in each of his first three seasons.

Also on the radar for Texas fans: Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor, formerly of Austin’s high school ranks, can reach 75 career scrimmage touchdowns, and Baltimore’s Derrick Henry can tie Barry Sanders for fourth-most games with 100 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Week 12 kicks off Thursday night with Allen and the Bills in Houston on Prime Video, giving Texas fans an early look at potential history in the making.
