DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — A federal judge in Dallas has scheduled the jury trial for rapper Pooh Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell Williams Jr., to begin on July 6.
According to court documents filed Tuesday, Williams Jr., his father Lontrell Williams Sr., rapper Big30, and six additional defendants will stand trial together at the Earle Cabell Federal Building in Dallas.
Federal prosecutors allege the group carried out an armed confrontation involving rapper Gucci Mane. The Department of Justice claims Williams Jr. displayed an AK-style pistol and forced one of the alleged victims to sign a release from a recording contract at gunpoint.
Williams Jr. has remained in custody at the Kaufman County Jail since April after a federal judge ruled he posed a flight risk.
