FRISCO, Texas (TXAN 24) — Veterans, first responders, celebrities, professional athletes and community supporters came together in North Texas for the 2026 Verve Celebrity Softball Classic, helping participating charities raise $1,805,985.65.

The annual event, held at Riders Field on September 12, brought together more than 30 charitable organizations supporting veterans, first responders, military families and communities.

Presented by Karl’s House and powered by Dave & Buster’s, the weekend combined sports and entertainment with fundraising and recognition of those who have served.

The 2026 event also carried added significance as the nation marked the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Members of the NYPD and FDNY traveled to Texas to participate in the weekend and join veterans, first responders and other guests on the field.

Organizers said the weekend was designed to put veterans and first responders at the center of the celebration rather than simply recognizing them from the sidelines.

“This weekend represents everything the Verve Celebrity Softball Classic was created to do — bring people together, honor those who serve and use our platform to make a meaningful difference,” said Tim “TK” Klund, founder of the Celebrity Softball Classic.

The Classic will return to Riders Field, home of the Frisco RoughRiders, on June 12, 2027.

Organizers said planning for next year’s event is already underway.
