FC Dallas And Houston Dynamo Rank Among MLS’ Most Polite Online Fan Communities

DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — Texas soccer supporters are getting a relatively favorable distinction in a new analysis of online Major League Soccer fan communities, with FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo ranking among the league’s most polite fan bases.

The analysis by Action Network examined 533,066 comments posted over 12 months across the subreddits of all 30 MLS clubs.

FC Dallas ranked fifth among the league’s most polite fan communities, with 9.67% of comments containing profanity. Houston Dynamo FC placed second, with just 8.81% of comments containing swear words.

CF Montréal topped the politeness ranking at 5.23%, followed by Houston. Chicago Fire FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC tied for third at 9.54%.

The study also measured the emotional tone of comments. Nashville SC ranked as the league’s most positive fan community, while CF Montréal had the highest share of negative comments.

At the opposite end of the profanity ranking, Sporting Kansas City led the league, with 14.28% of comments containing swear words.

The findings provide an interesting look at how supporters discuss their clubs online, but they represent activity on Reddit rather than the behavior of entire fan bases inside stadiums or across other social media platforms.

For North Texas and Houston soccer fans, the results put both Texas clubs among the league’s more restrained online communities.
