GARLAND, Texas (TXAN 24) — Southlake Carroll brought home hardware in the most dramatic way possible on Saturday night, outlasting Austin High in a five-set classic to win the UIL Class 6A Division II State Championship.
Carroll jumped ahead early, Austin punched back, and by the fourth set it felt as if neither program was willing to blink. The deciding frame turned into a showcase of grit — long rallies, diving saves, and momentum swinging with nearly every point.
In the end, Southlake Carroll’s poise and late-set execution carried them through, sealing a championship that will be talked about for years.
Two powerhouse programs. One unforgettable finish. A banner-winning night for the Dragons.
