TEXAS (TXAN 24) — Saturday’s NFL transactions brought several roster changes that highlight the continued impact of Texas players across the league.

For the Dallas Cowboys, the biggest moves saw DB Caelen Carson activated from the Reserve/Injured list and RB Malik Davis elevated from the practice squad. Both moves add depth to a Cowboys squad navigating injuries and looking to maintain momentum as the season heats up. The Houston Texans did not report any new transactions for the day.

Texas-born players also made their presence felt around the league:

  • Dre Greenlaw (LB, Arkansas) returns from Reserve/Injured with the Denver Broncos.

  • Tyler Batty (DE, Brigham Young) is back on the Minnesota Vikings’ active roster after a Reserve/Injured stint.

  • Chandler Wooten (LB, Auburn) and Jalen Reeves-Maybin (LB, Tennessee) are participating in tryouts for the San Francisco 49ers, hoping to make an impact.

  • Rick Lovato (LS, Old Dominion), a Texas native, was elevated from the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad.

These transactions highlight not only the depth of talent coming out of Texas but also the state’s continuing influence on the NFL, from the Cowboys’ roster to players making waves across the league. Fans can expect more updates as these players hit the field in upcoming games.
