NACOGDOCHES, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks gave their homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Saturday night, dominating Nicholls State 34–7 inside Homer Bryce Stadium — even after a lengthy mid-game weather delay.

The Jacks set the tone early, jumping out to a 19–0 halftime lead and never letting up once play resumed. Quarterback Sam Vidlak led the charge with an efficient outing, while wideout Kylon Harris continued his standout season as the top offensive threat.

SFA’s defense was relentless, holding the Colonels to just 187 total yards and keeping them scoreless until late in the fourth quarter. The Lumberjacks’ front seven controlled the line of scrimmage all night, forcing multiple punts and creating constant pressure in the backfield.

Despite the long weather delay, the energy never left the homecoming crowd — and the Lumberjacks responded with their most complete performance of the season.

The win moves SFA to 5–2 overall and 3–0 in Southland Conference play, keeping them firmly in the race for the conference crown.

Stephen F. Austin will hit the road next week at East Texas A&M before returning to Nacogdoches to continue their push toward postseason contention.
