Round Rock Express Fall To Tacoma 3-2 In Season Finale

ROUND ROCK, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Round Rock Express closed out the 2026 season Sunday afternoon with a 3-2 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers at Dell Diamond.

Round Rock took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jonah Bride delivered an RBI single to score Michael Helman.

Tacoma answered in the fifth, scoring twice to take a 2-1 advantage. Ryan Bliss brought home Stuart Fairchild on a sacrifice fly before Leo Rivas drove in Victor Labrada with a single.

Cam Cauley tied the game in the sixth inning, launching his team-leading 16th home run of the season 410 feet over the center-field wall.

The Rainiers regained the lead in the ninth. Connor Joe opened the inning with a double and later scored on an RBI single from Fairchild.

Round Rock was unable to rally in the bottom of the ninth, ending the season with a 73-77 record.

The Express went 31-44 during the first half before finishing the second half 42-33. Round Rock also extended its streak to five consecutive seasons with at least 70 victories.

Cauley finished his first Triple-A season with 16 home runs, 54 RBI, 77 runs, 39 stolen bases and a .276/.366/.625 slash line. His 39 stolen bases ranked third in the Pacific Coast League.

Trey Supak started the season finale and worked three scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
