COMMERCE, Texas (TXAN 24) — East Texas A&M didn’t just win on Wednesday night — they rewrote the record book. The Lions dished out 41 assists, the most in program history, on their way to a dominant 115–44 victory over Dallas Christian on the Hunt Regional Healthcare Court.

The previous program record of 36 assists didn’t stand a chance as ETAMU pushed the pace from the opening tip. The Lions opened the game on a 21–0 run, built a 37-point advantage before halftime, and eventually stretched the lead to as much as 72.

The 115 points mark the fifth-highest scoring output in program history, and the Lions came one attempt short of tying their all-time mark for three-point attempts. ETAMU finished 19-for-42 from deep, with both numbers ranking top-three in school history.

Damian Garcia led the way with 24 points, knocking down six threes and grabbing seven boards. Ronnie Harrison added 23 points on an efficient 9-for-11 night. Michael Folarin posted the Lions’ first double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Vinny Sigona chipped in 17 points, hitting five triples.

Dallas Christian was led by Carlas Canady with 12 points and Dylan Gonzalez with 10.

The win snaps a three-game skid and moves ETAMU to 2–3 on the season. Dallas Christian played the game as an exhibition.
