RCCOO Launches "Get Groovy for School" Fundraising Campaign

HENDERSON, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Rusk County Community Outreach Organization (RCCOO) is gearing up to make the upcoming school year brighter for local youth.


Driven by their core mission to empower youth, support families, and strengthen communities through outreach and resources, the organization has announced its "Get Groovy for School" Back-to-School Community Event.



Scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the event will take place at Lake Forest Park, located at 1500 Lake Forest Parkway in Henderson.


This community gathering promises to be a vibrant, family-friendly day featuring food, drinks, bounce houses, activities, and live entertainment provided by a DJ.


To ensure the event's success and provide vital resources to families in need, RCCOO has set a fundraising goal of $15,000. These funds will directly support 200 local students by supplying them with the essential tools and experiences needed for a successful school year.


To maintain complete transparency with community donors, RCCOO has shared the exact breakdown of how the $15,000 campaign budget will be allocated:


  • 200 Backpacks: $3,000

  • School Supplies: $4,500

  • Food & Drinks: $2,000

  • Bounce Houses & Activities: $1,000

  • DJ & Entertainment: $1,000

  • Volunteer T-Shirts: $750

  • Event Equipment & Permits: $1,250

  • Youth Scholarship Fund: $1,500


Total Goal: $15,000

RCCOO is calling on local businesses, organizations, and residents to invest in the future of Rusk County's youth. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 33-1945286), all contributions are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

Sponsorship tiers have been designed to welcome support at every level:


  • Community Champion: $5,000+

  • Gold Sponsor: $2,500

  • Silver Sponsor: $1,000

  • Bronze Sponsor: $500

  • Community Friend: $250


Every donation, big or small, makes a lasting impact, according to organizers.
