OAK CLIFF, Texas (TXAN 24) - A teen center in Oak Cliff is getting a fresh start as volunteers step in to revitalize the space during National Volunteer Week.

On Thursday, community volunteers began to transform the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas Oak Cliff location with a full renovation. The project includes new paint, updated furniture, organization, and a deep clean—aimed at creating a more welcoming environment ahead of the busy summer season.

The Oak Cliff club, located at 2907 Linfield Road, serves one of the most active youth populations in the region. In January 2026, it recorded the highest attendance among the area’s 11 clubs, which collectively serve nearly 4,000 children across North Texas.

Programs at the club focus heavily on teen development, offering mentoring, college preparation, leadership training, and workforce readiness. Leaders say improving the physical space is key to keeping teens engaged and encouraging consistent participation.

The effort is being led by Park Place Dealerships, whose members are participating in 16 volunteer projects across North Texas throughout the week.
Organizers say the makeover will not only enhance the facility but also strengthen its role as a safe and supportive hub for teens in Oak Cliff.
