DALLAS, TX (TXAN 24 News) – The lights are bright in Dallas tonight as the Wings host the Indiana Fever at the American Airlines Center — but one of the WNBA’s biggest stars won’t be on the floor.
Caitlin Clark has officially been ruled out due to a lingering groin injury, marking her second straight missed game. The highly anticipated matchup between Clark and Wings rookie Paige Bueckers will have to wait.
Still, the show goes on. Tip-off is set for 6:30 PM, and the venue is sold out, with over 19,000 expected in attendance. The game was moved from the Wings’ usual home at College Park Center to the AAC specifically for the larger crowd.
Dallas comes in hot, having won three of their last four behind a resurgent defense led by Li Yueru. Meanwhile, Bueckers is quickly becoming the face of the franchise, averaging over 18 points per game during the recent win streak.
The Fever will turn to Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell in Clark’s absence as they try to bounce back from a loss to the Sparks earlier this week.
TXAN 24 News is live at the AAC and will have full highlights, postgame interviews, and analysis tonight on TXAN24.com and across all our platforms
