TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Every Thursday, TXAN partners with Nicholas Pet Haven to spotlight one incredible animal in search of a forever home. This week, we want you to meet Polly, a 1 year old Chocolate Lab/Weimaraner/Pit mix with a heart full of potential and love.
After being dumped and left to fend for herself, Polly spent weeks running the streets before Tyler Animal Control helped safely bring her in. Since joining Nicholas Pet Haven on Monday, this sweet girl has already begun to blossom with care, patience, and kindness.
A Gentle Soul Learning to Trust
Polly is still shy and a bit unsure of new people, but her progress has been remarkable. With every passing day, she’s showing more confidence and letting her gentle, loving personality shine through. Once she feels safe, her sweet nature and loyalty become undeniable.
She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, a true social butterfly in the making. Polly would love a home where she can play with other pups and continue learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.

The Perfect Fit
Polly would thrive in a patient, loving home that gives her the time she needs to fully open up. She’s still young, eager to please, and ready to become someone’s loyal companion for life.
If you’ve been looking for a kind, soulful dog who just needs a little reassurance to bloom, Polly might be the perfect match.
