Dasher: A Sweet Survivor Ready for His Forever Home

TYLER, Texas — Every Thursday, TXAN 24  partners with Nicholas Pet Haven to spotlight one incredible animal in search of a forever home. This week, we’re honored to introduce Dasher, a two year old Border Collie mix whose resilience and loving personality make him truly unforgettable.

Dasher’s story is one of survival and second chances. He was brought to the rescue after falling out of the back of a moving truck, and heartbreakingly, his owners never came back for him. Despite the trauma, his spirit never broke.

He was taken to an orthopedic surgeon, where his leg was successfully saved. Today, you’d never guess what he’s been through. Dasher runs, plays, and enjoys life just like any other happy dog, with no lasting issues slowing him down.

What stands out most about Dasher is his incredibly sweet nature. He absolutely loves people and thrives on attention, especially when you talk to him in a soft, happy voice, that’s when the zoomies kick in. He still has plenty of puppy energy and loves running around the yard, but he’s also very smart and knows when it’s time to settle down.

Dasher does great with other dogs and enjoys having playmates, though he prefers to keep his distance from cats. He is fully potty trained, kennel trained, neutered, and current on all vaccines, making him more than ready to transition smoothly into a forever home.

With his intelligence, affectionate personality, and playful spirit, Dasher would make a wonderful family dog for just about anyone looking for a loyal and loving companion.
