TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Every Thursday, TXAN partners with Nicholas Pet Haven to spotlight one incredible animal in search of a forever home. This week, we want you to meet Nathan, a sweet and playful nearly 10 month old pup who has spent far too much of his young life waiting for a family of his own.

Nathan came to the rescue in mid April after being dumped along I-20 with his siblings. While his two siblings were adopted months ago, Nathan is still growing up at the shelter, watching others leave while he remains behind. Despite being healthy, loving, and full of potential, he’s still waiting for someone to choose him.

A Young Dog With a Big Heart

At approximately 10 months old, Nathan is right in the middle of his puppy to young dog stage. He’s active, playful, and full of curiosity about the world around him. Nathan absolutely loves his toys and thrives when he gets to play and interact, especially with other dogs. His happy energy is contagious, and he brings joy wherever he goes.

Social, Playful, and Full of Promise

Nathan is great with all other animals and does best when he has room to run, play, and be himself. He’s believed to be a Lab mix and currently weighs about 35 pounds, making him a perfect medium sized companion for an active household. Growing up in a shelter has been hard on him, but even so, his spirit remains bright and loving.

With consistency, patience, and a family to call his own, Nathan has all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion.

Ready for His Forever Family

Nathan is:

• Approximately 10 months old

• Possibly a Lab mix

• About 35 pounds

• Fully vetted and healthy

• Great with all animals

• Very active, playful, and toy-loving

• Ready to leave kennel life behind

If you’re looking for a fun loving, social dog who’s eager to be part of a family, Nathan could be the one.
