NFL Fan of the Year Nominations Now Open — East Texas Fans Encouraged to Apply

NEW YORK, New York (TXAN 24) — The NFL is looking for its most passionate supporters, and East Texas fans have a shot at the title.

Nominations are officially open for the 2025 NFL Fan of the Year presented by Captain Morgan, now in its fifth season. The contest celebrates fans whose love for the game inspires their families, communities, and beyond — and for the first time, entrants can apply as a pair.

Each of the league’s 32 teams will choose one nominee to represent them throughout the season, with all nominees receiving exclusive experiences and an invite to Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area on February 8, 2026. One will be crowned the Ultimate Fan of the Year during NFL Honors, the league’s annual awards show.

The nomination window is open now through September 29 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Entrants must be 21 or older to participate. International fans in 10 eligible global markets can also apply in a separate contest.

East Texans who have turned their fandom into a lifestyle — from Friday night traditions to Sunday rituals — are encouraged to share their story. As last year’s winner Megan Stefanski put it, “Passion and heart truly matter. You never know where it might take you.”
