Matchups Announced for Spikes Under the Lights Volleyball Tournament at AT&T Stadium

ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — Matchups have been announced for Spikes Under the Lights, a first-of-its-kind women’s collegiate volleyball tournament set for Thursday, Aug. 27, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

The event will feature four of the nation’s premier volleyball programs competing in a single-night tournament with a $1 million prize purse, the largest ever awarded in women’s college sports.

The opening matches are:

• Nebraska vs. Florida — 7 p.m. CT

• Penn State vs. SMU — 8 p.m. CT

The winners of each match will advance to the championship at approximately 9 p.m. CT.

Organizers say the tournament will be the first women’s collegiate sporting event held at AT&T Stadium and comes as women’s volleyball continues to see record growth in attendance, television viewership and national visibility.

SMU will represent North Texas in the event, while Nebraska, Florida and Penn State bring multiple national championships and decades of collegiate volleyball tradition to the competition.
