TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — The University Interscholastic League has announced its latest Reclassification and Realignment, with Jacksonville High School and Cumberland Academy standing as the only two East Texas schools to be reclassified in the new cycle.

Jacksonville High School will move from Class 5A to Class 4A, a change driven by updated enrollment figures submitted to the UIL. The reclassification applies across all UIL-sanctioned programs and will take effect in the upcoming alignment period.

Cumberland Academy will move up in classification, elevating by request and/or UIL policy. As a charter school, Cumberland’s placement reflects enrollment considerations and UIL guidelines governing classification adjustments.

No other East Texas schools experienced classification changes in this reclassification cycle.

TXAN 24 News will continue to follow developments related to the UIL’s reclassification process and its impact on East Texas schools.
