ROCKWALL, Texas (TXAN 24) — The opening episode of House of the Dragon Season 3 wastes no time throwing viewers back into the conflict following last season’s finale. The episode immediately reminds audiences of what’s at stake before shifting into a tense battle for power.

Dragon action, political maneuvering, and shifting loyalties keep the pacing moving throughout the hour. Underwater cinematography adds a fresh visual element, while the action sequences maintain suspense from beginning to end.

Although some character moments rely more on facial expressions than dialogue, the performances successfully communicate the growing tension surrounding the Iron Throne.

TXAN 24 News Rating: 9.5/10

Excellent pacing, strong opening, memorable dragon sequences, and immediate consequences following last season’s finale.
