Headed To Waco: Whitehouse Band Director Shares Local Support and Sacrifices this year reaching UIL State

WHITEHOUSE, Texas (TXAN 24) — For Whitehouse Band Director Randy Kiser, the journey to the UIL Military Marching Band State Championships begins long before senior year.

Speaking with TXAN 24 News ahead of the competition at McLane Stadium in Waco, Kiser reflected on the commitment it takes for students to start band in sixth grade and remain dedicated through all seven years of their journey to senior year.

He also highlighted the student leadership that has helped shape this year’s group while sharing a personal connection to the program. His son will compete with the high school band, his daughter is part of the middle school band, and his wife also participated in band during her high school years. Kiser himself is a Whitehouse graduate and former band student.

He also recognized the dedication of his staff and the support of Whitehouse’s administration in helping the program reach this moment.

The journey.

The leadership.

The legacy.
