ROANOKE, Texas (TXAN 24) — People gathered at Hawaiian Falls Roanoke as the water park celebrated its annual ice dump, pouring more than 2,000 pounds of ice into the wave pool to provide a refreshing break from North Texas’ triple-digit temperatures.
The event drew children and parents eager to watch one ton of ice delivered, staged and dumped into the pool during a countdown led by park staff.
The annual tradition has become a summertime favorite, offering guests a unique way to cool off while enjoying the water park.
The annual event served as both a fun attraction and a reminder of the challenges posed by the region’s summer heat, with hundreds of visitors taking advantage of the cooler wave pool throughout the afternoon.
