DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) — Gomez and Morticia Addams are Texas’ most-searched couples Halloween costume heading into 2026, while Mario and Luigi lead the state’s duo costume searches, according to new research from CSGOGem.
The study found 3,720 Google searches for Gomez and Morticia costumes in Texas from July through September 2026. The spooky couple ranked second nationally, with 35,000 searches across the United States, and led searches in 14 states, including Texas.
Mario and Luigi topped Texas’ duo costume searches with 2,880 searches, according to the state figures provided by CSGOGem. Nationally, the Nintendo characters ranked second among duos, drawing 27,600 searches.

For non-romantic duos, Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” ranked first nationally with 29,500 searches, up 31% year over year.
CSGOGem analyzed Google Keyword Planner search data for 112 costume pairs. The findings reflect search interest, not confirmed costume purchases or what people ultimately wear.
