TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Episode 2, Sugar High, doubles down on the crossover chaos as Homer becomes both the heart and the headache of Springfield Island.
His deep love for donuts, paired with his trademark tunnel vision, kicks off a chain of sugary disasters that ripple across the mixed reality created in Episode 1.
The interstellar shard continues to influence the world around him, and this time its power amplifies every sugary craving Homer has.
What starts as a harmless hunt for dessert spirals into a full-blown crisis, with Springfield-style slapstick colliding with Fortnite’s unpredictable physics.
Entire zones shift, candy-coated hazards appear out of nowhere, and the rest of the cast scrambles to contain the mess before it spreads island-wide.
What makes the episode work is the pacing: it’s fun, bright, and a little chaotic, but it also gives more insight into how unstable the merged world is becoming.
The humor lands more consistently than in the premiere, and the crossover feels more confident now that the setup is out of the way.
While the plot is still mostly comedic fallout caused by Homer being Homer, Episode 2 finds a better balance between laughs and world-building.
It’s a stronger entry overall, earning a solid 7/10 for leveling up the energy and raising the stakes with a donut-fueled disaster only The Simpsons could deliver.
