KERRVILLE, Texas (TXAN 24) — East Texas A&M University closed out its 2025–26 men’s golf season with a strong showing at the Southland Conference Championships, finishing fifth as a team while senior Janis Erll secured all-tournament honors.
Erll, competing in his final collegiate event, delivered one of the top performances of the week at Comanche Trace Golf Club. The Germany native climbed four spots in the final round, posting a three-round score of 216 (76-70-70) to tie for fifth overall.

Head coach Brian Dolehide praised Erll’s finish and the team’s overall effort.
“I am happy for Janis and his finish inside the top five,” Dolehide said. “We gave ourselves a chance in the final round, but just couldn’t get it done. I’m proud of what this group accomplished this season.”
Cooper Watt led the supporting cast, tying for 13th with a 220, while Davis Seybert surged eight spots to finish tied for 18th at 222. Matt Walters placed 27th (226), and Nicke Kaajavirta rounded out the lineup in 35th (231).
