KANSAS CITY, Missouri (TXAN 24) — The TCU Horned Frogs enter the 2026-27 men’s basketball season looking to build on a program-best 11-7 Big 12 conference record and make another push toward the NCAA Tournament under head coach Jamie Dixon.

TCU finished sixth in the Big 12 last season and reached the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons. With Dixon entering his 11th year leading the program, the Horned Frogs will look to prove their success can continue in one of college basketball’s most demanding conferences.

Forward Xavier Edmonds, guard Brock Harding and guard Micah Robinson are among the players drawing attention as TCU prepares for the new campaign. Edmonds was named to the preseason All-Big 12 team, giving the Horned Frogs an experienced frontcourt presence to build around.

The roster features five returning players and 10 newcomers, creating both opportunities and questions about how quickly the group can develop chemistry. TCU will need consistent guard play, reliable rebounding and defensive discipline to compete with Big 12 contenders such as Kansas, Houston, Arizona and Iowa State.

The Horned Frogs open the regular season Nov. 2 against Lindenwood at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth. The nonconference schedule also features Texas A&M on Nov. 19, a trip to face Notre Dame on Dec. 5 and a home matchup against Clemson on Dec. 12.

Conference play begins Jan. 2 at Houston, followed by a home matchup against Arizona State on Jan. 5 and Texas Tech on Jan. 9.

TCU enters the season outside the AP preseason Top 25 but received 17 poll points, signaling that the Horned Frogs remain on the national radar. The challenge now is turning that attention into another postseason run.
