TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — The countdown is on for one of East Texas’ biggest annual traditions.

The 2026 East Texas State Fair is set to return to Tyler September 25 through October 4, bringing 10 days of carnival rides, live entertainment, food, livestock competitions and family activities to the East Texas community.

The fair will once again celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage while providing entertainment for families throughout East Texas. Visitors can expect carnival attractions, livestock shows, competitive events, exhibits, fair food and live music.

Livestock competitions will be a major part of this year’s event, with youth exhibitors competing throughout the fair. The schedule includes junior livestock competitions featuring heifers, lambs, goats, rabbits, dairy cattle, steers and swine.

Live music will also be featured throughout the 10-day celebration, adding to the entertainment lineup planned for fairgoers.

The East Texas State Fair has also maintained a strong connection to education and youth programs. Organizers say the fair has awarded more than $2.1 million to East Texas youth since 1992 through scholarships and other programs.

With opening day approaching, Tyler is preparing to welcome families from across East Texas for another year of food, fun, competition and tradition.

The 2026 East Texas State Fair runs September 25 through October 4 in Tyler.
