ROUND ROCK, Texas (TXAN 24) - Since opening its gates on April 16, 2000, Dell Diamond has proudly served as the home of the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Built on 85 acres of former farmland, the stadium is a true community investment, with the City of Round Rock contributing $7.35 million toward the project’s $25 million construction cost.
Dell Diamond offers a seating capacity of 11,631, and its design brings fans remarkably close to the action — those sitting in the first row behind home plate are actually closer to the batter than the pitcher is. The stadium goes beyond the basics, featuring 30 luxury suites, a grass berm for lawn seating, a swimming pool, and a lively kids’ zone complete with a splash pad and rock-climbing wall.
Fans can also enjoy a beer garden tucked beneath the third base picnic deck, and stroll past a colorful mural along the concourse that gives a nod to Austin’s famous postcard art. True to the city’s heritage, a small “round rock” sits atop the center field berm, proudly paying homage to Round Rock’s namesake.
