Dallas Pulse, WISE DFW Hosted Speed Mentoring Event for Girls Inc. of Tarrant County and Metropolitan Dallas

FORT WORTH, Texas (TXAN 24) — The reigning Major League Volleyball champion Dallas PULSE partnered with Women in Sports and Events (WISE) DFW to host the “PULSE of a Champion—Fueled by POWERADE” speed mentoring event Thursday at Girls Inc. of Tarrant County.

Approximately 40 girls participated in the two-hour program, where they met with women working across the professional sports industry.

Through small-group mentoring sessions, participants discussed confidence, leadership, overcoming challenges and career opportunities in fields including marketing, social media, community engagement, sales and game-day operations.

The event incorporated Girls Inc.‘s “Strong. Smart. Bold.” mission alongside the Dallas PULSE’s “PULSE of a Champion” mantra, emphasizing preparation, perseverance, teamwork and confidence as qualities that can help young women achieve their goals both on and off the court.

WISE DFW President Angela Lewis led discussions highlighting the importance of introducing girls to women’s sports and leadership opportunities at an early age. Dallas PULSE representatives, including Sami Jacobs, Anissa Jacks and Katrina Streiner, served as mentors throughout the event.

Activities included a volleyball-themed icebreaker, mentoring rotations, interactive discussions, a group “Feel the PULSE” chant and a closing huddle where participants reflected on what they learned.

The Dallas PULSE’s Major League Volleyball Championship trophy, won during the franchise’s inaugural season in May, was displayed throughout the event and served as the backdrop for a group photo with participants.
