TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — A new analysis from VegasInsider reveals Cowboys fans endured the most stressful NFL season in 2025, topping the league with a Fan Stress Index score of 62.75 out of 100.
The study measured emotional strain week-to-week, factoring in penalties, injuries, close finishes, and online fan sentiment, not just wins and losses.
Key factors driving Dallas’ stress rating included tight games, frequent penalties, and injuries. The Cowboys played two overtime contests and averaged only 10 points in winning margin, keeping fans on edge late.
They also posted 2.59 drive-impacting penalties per game and 1.24 turnovers per game, while injuries sidelined players for a combined 203 games. Online fan commentary reflected that tension, with nearly 9% of posts expressing frustration.
The Fan Stress Index combines seven metrics, including overtime games, close-game lead changes, and fan negativity, to quantify how emotionally demanding following a team can be.
While Texas is home to multiple NFL teams, this analysis highlights that Dallas fans experienced the most roller-coaster season, balancing excitement with high stakes week after week.
The results underscore the unique pressure of following America’s Team.
