Body Found After Fire in Abandoned Third Ward Home

HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered inside a burned-out abandoned home in Houston’s Third Ward.

Firefighters responded to the blaze just after midnight and found the victim after extinguishing the fire. The home had reportedly been vacant for months.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending autopsy results.
