ARLINGTON, Texas (TXAN 24) - Very rare is it that the state of Texas gets to enjoy two Cotton Bowl Classics in one year, even more rare is it that we get to witness the same school in the Classic twice in one year. But that is what we have before us with Ohio State in the year 2025.

Earlier this year, January, in the 89th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic we saw Texas fall to the Buckeyes in a thriller that sent the Buckeyes to the National Championship game of the College Football Playoffs. This December's game is a Quarterfinal of the CFP and will send the winner to the Final Four teams vying for a National title.

Miami upset the Texas A&M Aggies at Kyle Field in the First Round to earn their right to play in this game, meanwhile the Ohio State Buckeyes received a first round bye and have been waiting for their match up since Selection Sunday.

Quarterback Carson Beck will have all eyes on him as he has been the face of the Hurricanes since joining the squad after transferring from the University of Georgia after a major injury. With only 2 losses on the season, this team is sneakily dangerous to make some Floridians proud with a big time upset.

Wide Receiver Jeremiah Smith will look to make an impact early and often in this game to give the reigning champions a shot at repeating back to back titles.

Stay tuned as we will provide updates for this game as it kickoff and through the trophy presentation.
