HOUSTON, Texas (TXAN 24) — With the FIFA World Cup 2026 just weeks away, Visa, Street Soccer USA, and Bank of America have announced a nationwide expansion of community soccer parks aimed at leaving a lasting impact beyond the tournament.
The initiative will bring Visa Street Soccer Parks to all 11 U.S. host cities, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Seattle/Tacoma, and Boston. The parks are designed to transform underused spaces into community hubs that combine athletics, education, and workforce development.
Each location will feature two professional-grade soccer fields, lighting for extended use, and learning centers that support after-school programs, job readiness training, and financial education. Organizers say the goal is to provide long-term access to opportunity, particularly in underserved neighborhoods.

The expansion builds on early success seen in cities like San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, and New York, where existing parks already host youth leagues, adult play, and community programming. Additional sites in Nashville and Atlanta are also in development.
Leaders behind the project emphasize that the parks are meant to outlast the global spotlight of the World Cup, creating sustainable, community-led spaces. As millions of fans prepare to visit the U.S. for the tournament, organizers say these investments ensure local communities benefit long after the final match is played.
The World Cup is expected to draw unprecedented international attention, with legacy projects like these shaping its long-term impact nationwide.
