UTSA runs off on FIU in the ServPro First Responders Bowl 57-20

DALLAS, Texas (TXAN 24) - University of Texas-San Antonio met up with Florida International at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas for the ServPro First Responders Bowl as both teams looked to end their seasons on a high note.


The game started out with FIU getting on the bird early with back to back touchdowns to take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.


However the UTSA offense found its rhythm and was able to respond with back-to-back touchdowns of their own, knotting the game up at 14 a piece early.


The Road Runner's did not stop their momentum swing their. In the second quarter UTSA put up 17 unanswered points (31 straight points including the first quarter) and took a dominating 31-14 lead into half time.


Both ball clubs came out of halftime with a battle ready mindset but the UTSA Road Runners proved to be too much to handle and ended up winning the game 57-20.

W. Henderson III - 14 carries, 59 yards, 2 TDs
