FORT WORTH, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Van High School Vandals cheer team is officially headed to the final round of the UIL Spirit State Championships, punching their ticket with a strong performance against elite programs from across Texas.

Competing on one of the biggest stages in high school cheer, the Vandals executed with precision, energy, and discipline during the qualifying round, earning advancement into the finals, a milestone achievement for the program.

The UIL Spirit State Championships feature multiple cuts, with only a limited number of teams moving on after each round. Van’s ability to survive the initial elimination and advance speaks to the squad’s preparation, composure, and competitive edge.

With finals ahead, the Vandals now stand among the top cheer programs in the state, representing East Texas on a statewide stage where execution and consistency separate contenders from champions.

Final round performances will determine official placements as the championship concludes in Fort Worth.
