TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — The Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Greater North Texas Affiliate will host the 2026 HDSA Team Hope 5K Run in Tyler on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Rose Rudman Park.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the event starting at 8:30 a.m. at 450 Shiloh Road.

The event raises funds for HDSA programs supporting people living with Huntington’s disease and their families, including community services, education, advocacy and research.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that progressively affects nerve cells in the brain, impacting physical and mental abilities. Each child of a parent with HD has a 50% chance of inheriting the disease.

HDSA estimates approximately 41,000 Americans are symptomatic and more than 200,000 are at risk of inheriting HD.

Team Hope is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event, with walks and runs held in more than 100 cities across the country. Since its launch in 2007, the program has raised more than $28 million for Huntington’s disease.

The Tyler event is open to community members, families, friends and supporters.
