LONGVIEW, Texas (TXAN 24) — Tyler Legacy continued its strong late-season run Friday night, holding off a furious fourth-quarter push from Longview to secure a 38–34 win.

Longview struck first behind senior guard Jailiyah Rockmore, who single-handedly carried the Lady Lobos in the opening quarter. Rockmore outscored Tyler Legacy 9–4 in the first eight minutes, as Longview’s full-court press disrupted the Red Raiders’ offense early. Legacy rotated between zone and man defense while struggling to find a rhythm.

The game flipped in the second quarter. Tyler Legacy came out aggressive, ripping off an 11–2 run to seize momentum. Although Longview battled back and cut the deficit to one on a buzzer-beater, Legacy controlled the period, winning it 13–7 to take a narrow halftime lead.

Rockmore opened the third quarter with back-to-back buckets to briefly reclaim the lead for Longview, but Tyler Legacy adjusted well. Breaking the Lobos’ man press, the Red Raiders stretched the advantage to seven by the end of the quarter.

Legacy led by as many as 10 with under seven minutes to play, but Longview refused to fold. The Lady Lobos trimmed the deficit to six, forcing a full timeout with 3:49 remaining. A drawn-up play led to free throws, cutting the lead to five, but Legacy responded calmly—calling a quick 30-second timeout and knocking down key free throws to seal the win.

Rockmore finished as the game’s leading scorer, while Legacy’s composure at the line proved decisive.

Final: Tyler Legacy 38, Longview 34
