Two East Texas School Districts Rank Among America’s Highest-Rated

EAST TEXAS (TXAN 24) — East Texas is well represented among America’s highest-rated school districts, with Caddo Mills Independent School District ranking No. 2 nationally and two additional Texas districts landing in the top 20.

A new analysis from Flipsnack, using school district data from Niche, ranked Caddo Mills ISD No. 2 in the country with a 4.65 out of 5-star rating based on 114 reviews.

Redondo Beach Unified School District in California ranked No. 1 with a 4.67 rating.

Caddo Mills was the highest-rated Texas district in the analysis. The district has five schools serving approximately 2,836 students and a reported student-to-teacher ratio of 14-to-1.

Other East Texas representation included Hudson Independent School District in Lufkin, which ranked No. 8 nationally with a 4.55 rating based on 55 reviews. The district has five schools and approximately 2,741 students.

South Texas Independent School District ranked No. 4 nationally with a 4.56 rating and 144 reviews.

The analysis examined 700 school districts from Niche and excluded districts with fewer than 40 reviews or fewer than five schools. Districts were ranked according to their Niche star rating, with the number of reviews used as a tiebreaker.

Texas and Wisconsin appeared most frequently among the top 20 districts.

The findings highlight the strong ratings received by several Texas school districts, including communities outside the state’s largest metropolitan areas.
