TYLER, Texas (TXAN 24) — Texas ranks tenth in the nation for rideshare users seeking customer support, according to a new study by Blakeley Law Firm.
The Florida-based firm analyzed Google search trends for over 10 phrases connected to “Uber Customer Support” and “Lyft Customer Support,” comparing the data across all 50 states. Results show that Texans are turning to the internet for help at a higher rate than most of the country.
The study found that Texas logged 274 support-related searches per 100,000 residents — nearly 1.5 times the national average of 187. In total, more than 87,000 searches came from Texans, highlighting common frustrations over billing issues, safety concerns, and lost items.
A spokesperson for Blakeley Law Firm said the results point to broader customer service challenges within the rideshare industry.
“Behind each search is a rider facing an unresolved issue,” the spokesperson noted. “The high concentration of support-related searches in Texas suggests deeper systemic concerns with how quickly and effectively these services respond to user needs.”
The report recommends that rideshare companies improve access to support, streamline issue resolution, and provide clearer guidance to riders.
