FRISCO, Texas (TXAN 24) – The Texas Legends just secured the NBA G League’s top honor — again.
The league announced the Legends as the 2024–25 Franchise of the Year, recognizing standout performance both on and off the court. It’s the second time the Frisco-based team has earned the award, with the first coming in 2019.
“We’re incredibly proud to bring this award back to Frisco,” said team president Malcolm Farmer. “This speaks to our fans, our staff, and the bond we’ve built with this community.”
The numbers back it up:
All 24 home games sold out
Led the G League in ticket sales across multiple categories
Top 3 in sponsorship revenue and group sales volume
Inside Comerica Center, game nights became part-performance, part-party — thanks to over-the-top entertainment like the SuckerPunch Official Review, the Ice Bucket Challenge, and the fan-favorite Kia Flying Car.
Upgrades to the arena — including new seating, video boards, and fan amenities — came via a partnership with the City of Frisco and the Dallas Stars. The team also opened its first retail store, Legends Locker, and expanded media visibility through new deals with Urban Edge Network and TEGNA.
Off the court, the Legends stayed rooted in service. They hosted over 150 community events, raised over $12,500 for local nonprofits, and helped provide nearly 39,000 meals through food bank partnerships.
The Legends remain the G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks and continue to raise the bar for what minor league sports can look like in Texas.
